Things to do in Son Tra peninsula

1. Check-in Son Tra Radar station– Things to do in Son Tra peninsula

Da Nang Radar Station is situated at an altitude of over 621m above sea level and dubbed as the “Indochina magical eye”, for military surveillance purposes that cover hundreds of kilometers of the East Sea.
The radius of this radar system is up to 300km and with its scanning range, it can control the whole Indochina region to both Hong Kong and Hainan island. Besides its exquisite beauty for your Instagrammable photo backdrop as a radar station, from here you also can witness the marvelous scenery of the city, the sea, and surrounding mountains way perfectly.

The ideal time recommended coming here is summer. It is safer for you to travel on the curvy roads leading to the site during dry sunny summer months as it will not rain too heavy and suddenly to make the roads wet and slippery like in other months. That is very advisable for motorbike trips which need you to know better about the road conditions and weather of the place before departing.

2. Nhà Vọng Cảnh – Sightseeing house – Things to do in Son Tra peninsula

Nhà Vọng Cảnh – Sightseeing house which is just a few hundreds of meters away from the radar station is also worth visiting.

This no-wall house was built on a protruding ledge upon the mountain peak to give the best panoramic view to the below landscape. You can take a much further look at not only Da Nang beaches but also Lang Co beach of Hue and Hai Van pass. There is a cute black monkey statue in front of this sea-view tower as a landmark of Son Tra mountain.

3. Chessboard Peak- Things to do in Son Tra peninsula

Ban Co Peak is one of the highest places in Son Tra Peninsula. You have to travel quite a long way to get here.  The highlight of Chess Board Peak is the stone-made statue of an old fairy man relaxingly playing chess alone in the middle of that great natural beauty on the mountain peak surrounded by fog and clouds.
